"We wanted an attractive tagline so that people outside the state get drawn towards Assam's uniqueness in terms of its tourism potential. The tourism department has also planned to develop about 700 houses across the states for providing homestay facilities to foreign and domestic tourists. "Rural homestays provide the best opportunity to visitors to experience Assam's greenery and cultural richness. The state's tea gardens and wildlife are niche tourism areas drawing foreign tourists. Last year, about 54 lakh domestic and 24,000 foreign tourists visited the state.
