KUCHING: Sarawak recorded its best Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) performance since 2013, with a state average grade (GPN) of 4.79 for the 2025 examination. State Education, Innovation and Talent Development Minister Datuk Seri Roland Sagah said the 2025 SPM score, released on Tuesday (March 31), improved by 0.05 points to 4.84 from 2024. Urban candidates obtained a GPN of 4.44 compared with 4.46 in 2024, while rural candidates improved from 5.11 to 5.03. Overall, 31,506 candidates, or 94% of the 34,166 who sat for the exam, qualified for the SPM certificate. Authorities hope the move will lead to better History results in the next examination cycle.
