PETALING JAYA: The claims that only 20% of Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD production can be sold locally, and that such vehicles must be priced above RM200,000, are inaccurate, says Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani. Johari was responding to claims that only 20% of BYD’s production can be sold locally, and these vehicles must be priced above RM200,000. BYD has chosen KLK Techpark to establish its first electric vehicle assembly plant in Malaysia. Besides KLK TechPark, there are at least two other development sites in the vicinity. BYD will be the anchor tenant and take up 150 acres of its KLK TechPark in the first phase.
