MIRI: Sarawak police arrested 100 people for illegal gambling in 75 raids throughout the state over the past week. Sarawak CID Chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Dev Kumar said simultaneous raids were organised in 17 districts including Kuching and Miri as well as other towns and remote villages. Cybergambling activities using online facilities, public gambling using cards and dices, illegal 4D and cockfighting arenas were all targeted, he said. "The most swoops was carried out in Miri with 17 premises were raided," said SAC Dev. Police will cite them for illegal gambling and those involved in cockfighting activities will be charged with the added offence of cruelty towards animals, he added.
