MIRI: Sarawak police raided the homes of two men in the around midnight and 2am and arrested them for posting fake news about child-kidnapping in Sarawak on Facebook. "The duo had copied and pasted Facebook postings alleging that the police had issued a warning to the public about a child kidnapping syndicate operating in Sibujaya. "The postings claimed that we police had issued the warning specifically to schools to be wary of two women who were part of that child kidnapping syndicate. "A police probe showed there is no truth to such child kidnapping incidents in Sarawak," he said. He said the police had already made numerous arrests in recent weeks in Sarawak relating to such fake news on Facebook.
