MIRI: Sarawak police are facing stubborn resistance from cyber-gambling syndicates that have changed tactics to escape raids. State CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Dev Kumar said that the syndicates are operating at irregular hours from premises that have been secretly renovated into gambling dens. "Despite our war against cyber-gambling and the intensive raids we have carried out state-wide, these gambling syndicates are putting up stubborn resistance," he said on Saturday. SAC Dev said this following raids on Friday by two CID teams in Desa Senadin and Lutong, where two cyber-gambling dens were busted. A total of 18 people were arrested and 20 laptops and nine desktop computers seized in the raids.
