A Labour Party remit, announced at the annual party conference on Saturday, could make sanitary items more accessible for New Zealand women. The Labour Party has passed a remit to make sanitary products more accessible to all women by subsidising or making them free. A Government spokesman confirmed there were no immediate plans to subsidise sanitary products. Supplied Manurewa MP for Labour Louisa Wall says the government needs to look at a systemic solution for an issue which is affecting up to a third of New Zealand women. It was through the bravery of women asking for help in the first place that had highlighted the issue, enabling the remit, Wall said.
