Share TweetBy Czarina Nicole Ong KiThe Sandiganbayan Second Division has denied the motion for leave to file demurrer to evidence filed by Maasin City Vice Mayor Maloney Labatos Samaco of Leyte, seeking to challenge the sufficiency of the prosecution’s evidence in his graft charge involving the allegedly irregular purchase of P10-million worth of communication devices in 2007. Samaco filed his motion on August 14, while the other local officials filed theirs on August 20. Lopez filed hers on August 22. The four-page resolution was written by Associate Justice Michael Frederick Musngi with the concurrence of Chairperson Oscar Herrera Jr. and Associate Justice Lorifel Pahimna.
