SANDAKAN: The public spat between Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) and independent candidate Hamzah Abdullah has taken a new twist. According to Hamzah, the report was lodged because the Amanah vice-president claimed that Hamzah had briefly joined Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) after quitting PAS in 2015. On the other hand, Sabah Amanah Youth chief Khairuddin Daud lodged a police report against Hamzah on the same day for allegedly using the Amanah party logo in his campaign. “I have met with the independent candidate and I have told him not to use the T-shirt with the Amanah logo,” he said briefly when met by reporters at the Bandar police station. The Sandakan polls is set to see a five-cornered fight between DAP, Parti Bersatu Sabah and three independent candidates.
