Samjhota Express leaves for India

LAHORE: The Samjhota Express train service between Pakistan and India resumed operations on Monday as the security situation between the neighboring countries improved after weeks of heightened tensions. The Samjhota Express normally runs between the two neighboring countries on Monday and Thursday. On February 28, the train operations were suspended, leaving Indian passengers stuck at Lahore railway station for four days. India has accused Pakistan of facilitating the attack while Islamabad has denied all allegations. While India has accused Pakistan of supporting the militants and having a “direct hand” in the incident, Pakistan, in turn, has rejected the allegations, accusing India of being responsible for human rights violations taking place in Kashmir.
