Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a meeting to review the implementation of fuel saving and austerity measures in view of the situation in the region. The meeting appealed to the public to support the government in the savings campaign, avoid unnecessary travel and prioritize teleconferencing in offices and workplaces. The Prime Minister said that due to government decisions, there is an adequate quantity of petroleum products for the country’s needs and public relief was given top priority in the current situation. In the meeting, the Prime Minister directed that provincial governments provide facilities to motorcycle and rickshaw owners to get their registrations done in their names. The meeting was also briefed on the proposed fuel support program app for motorcycle and rickshaw riders, while Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and federal ministers and relevant officials participated through video link.
