Same problems will hound opening of classes – ACT 0 SHARES Share it! Share TweetBy Merlina Hernando-MalipotA federation of teachers groups on Friday warned that the same old problems will hound the opening of classes this School Year (SY) 2019-2020 if the “shortages” in basic education resources will remain unaddressed. The Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) said that the conduct of the annual “Brigada Eskwela” itself is a proof that the public schools tremendously need basic education resources such as buildings for classrooms, teachers, learning materials and sanitation facilities. Despite being one of the agencies with the biggest share in the national budget, ACT said that the need for education resources remain unaddressed by the government. ‘Requirements’ not ‘shortages’Meanwhile, Undersecretary Annalyn Sevilla noted that DepEd is still validating and updating the agency’s school opening data for accuracy.
