The 50-year-old American actor is reportedly a virtual lock to co-star in director Clint Eastwood's 2020 biopic The Ballad of Richard Jewell. Based on a true story from the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta, Richard Jewell was the Olympic Park security guard who was initially celebrated for spotting a suspicious backpack concealing a pipe bomb and helping evacuate the crowded plaza. Eric Rudolph was sentenced to four consecutive life sentences in 2005 for having acted alone in the Olympic Park bombing. Meanwhile Richard Jewell lived the final years of his life in poor health and died in 2007 from heart failure at the age of 44. The Ballad of Richard Jewell will be produced by Warner Bros., with Eastwood directing and producing through his Malpaso imprint.
