The annual shopping gala organised by the government’s Export Promotion Bureau or EPB have drawn $20 million in spot orders, down from $30.43 million last year. Goods worth over Tk 878 million have been sold in the fair against last year’s Tk 1.13 billion. Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed disclosed the figures at the concluding ceremony of the expo on Sunday. Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Tofail described this year’s fair as a ‘success’, which he said was an outcome of political stability in the country. “The DITF venue will be shifted to Purbachal from 2020,” he said.
