Yu is China’s second string player, slated to pick up the mantle soon after Rio, while Nehwal had the advantage of experience. Even in the second and third games, where Nehwal dominated, Yu returned many of her strong attacking shots. Even with this victory in mind, a medal at Rio is not going to come easy for Nehwal. Yu, the tallest player in the circuit, hit many deep shots that were difficult for Nehwal to pick up.
