Sacked unvaccinated Auckland International Airport worker given job back on interim basis

An unvaccinated Auckland International Airport worker has been given his job back on an interim basis, but must remain on leave until the Employment Relations Authority (ERA) makes a further ruling, an Employment Court judge has ruled. John Anthony/Stuff A judge found that the steps taken by Auckland Airport were not those of a fair and reasonable employer. Chief Judge Christina Inglis issued a judgment on September 15 which found the ERA did not lack jurisdiction to make an interim order. The airport contends it acted appropriately, and that there was no basis for an order of interim reinstatement. The man also put forward a modified work proposal which was not explored and discussed with Auckland Airport, he said.
