Fully vaccinated Kiwi travellers returning from all countries will no longer be required to stay in managed isolation and quarantine (MIQ) from February 14, Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins has announced. Stuff All vaccinated Kiwi travellers can return without having to go through MIQ from February. Then from April 30, New Zealand will start to reopen to all fully vaccinated foreign nationals – not just New Zealand citizens or residents. They would also need a negative pre-departure test, proof they are fully vaccinated and a declaration about their travel history. Hipkins said they had always said they would reopen in a controlled way, and retaining a seven-day home isolation period for fully vaccinated travellers would provide continued safety assurance.
