Eight in 10 Filipino adults remain satisfied with President Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs, despite doubts on police’s account on the deaths of thousands of drug suspects, according to results of the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey. “Net satisfaction with the anti-illegal drugs campaign has always been either very good (+50 to +69) or excellent (+70 and above) in the past 12 survey rounds,” SWS said. The most common reason among those satisfied with the government’s anti-illegal drugs campaign, was that “drug suspects have lessened” at 42 percent. The next most common reasons are “drug suspects have been arrested” at 18 percent, and lessened crime at 11 percent, SWS said. Government has repeatedly denied involvement in summary killings, saying drug suspects slain in police operations had resisted arrest.
