The SPCA has filed charges against a prominent greyhound owner after a 21-month investigation into live-baiting allegations. Newshub reported the charges are against Brendon Cole, who runs a greyhound business with his wife Lisa, at Palmerston North. The SPCA told Newshub it had "filed charges against a prominent greyhound trainer for live-baiting." Live-baiting is the practice of using live animals as a lure for greyhounds to chase in training. "Greyhound Racing NZ acknowledges that the charge is of a serious nature and we await further details," he said.
