March 3, 2021 by Mihi Perera No CommentsSri Lanka is expected to receive the first batch of COVID-19 vaccines under the COVAX facility this Sunday (07), State Minister of COVID Prevention Sudarshini Fernandopulle said. Speaking at an event held in Chilaw today, the State Minister said the vaccine consignment with 264,000 doses will accordingly arrive in Sri Lanka on Sunday. Under the COVAX facility, World Health Organization (WHO) had agreed to provide Sri Lanka with 20 percent of the vaccine requirement to vaccinate 4.2 million of the population.
