SIU charges Toronto police officer with assault causing bodily harm

Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit, which probes deaths and serious injuries involving police, announced Thursday that it has charged Const. Jason Boag with one count of assault causing bodily harm. A Toronto police officer has been charged with assaulting a 62-year-old man inside a downtown apartment building last year. The man suffered “serious injuries” as a result, the SIU said. Boag, who was recently assigned to the 51 division Community Response Unit, has been a Toronto police officer since 2016.
