Photo: ODT filesSecurity Intelligence Service documents confirm a Dunedin teenager tried to assassinate the Queen in the early 1980s, despite alleged efforts by police to cover the story up. A memo, now released publicly by the SIS, confirms that Lewis did intend to kill the Queen. The SIS documents also show there was no intention of charging Lewis with treason during the on-going police investigation.
