Dr Pakorn Peethawatchai, has been elected vice chairman of the working committee for the Emerging Markets Group, under the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE). Pakorn is senior executive vice president, head of corporate strategy division and head of finance and investment division, of the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET). The term is valid for two years and according to the SET, the appointment reflects the Thai stock exchange market outstanding position as an emerging market that can be further developed for a larger role at the international level. Previously Kesara Manchusree, president of the SET, was elected as a WFE committee member.
