SCDHB doctors' strike over, negotiations continuePHOTO: JOHN KIRK-ANDERSON/FAIRFAX NZ The doctors' strike has ended but more negotiations are planned for next week between the doctors' union and the district health boards over pay and rosters. The junior doctors' strike may be over but negotiations are not, with the New Zealand Resident Doctors' Association (NZRDA) accepting an invitation from district health boards to further discuss concerns next week. South Canterbury District Health Board is one of 20 DHBs represented in negotiations, trying to reach agreement on junior doctors' rosters and pay, since February. An NZRDA spokeswoman said the countrywide strike, which began on Tuesday involving thousands of junior doctors, had run smoothly. "I am very concerned that the DHBs made three offers to address the roster issue to the junior doctors union and these were never put in front of the junior doctors."
