SC shows concern over 30,000 vacant seats in quota allotted to minorities


Share:The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday expressed concern over 30,000 vacant seats in the quota allotted to minorities in government jobs. During the hearing of a suo motu notice of Hindu temple attack incident in Rahim Yar Khan, One-Man Commission on Minorities' Rights Chairman. The SC, on the occasion, said it had been learnt that the federal government, governments of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan were not making recruitments against these vacant seats. The apex court ordered the federal government as well as the chief secretaries of all the four provinces to cooperate with the One Man Commission on Minorities' Rights. The Supreme Court had, on August 5, 2021, taken suo motu notice of the attack on a Hindu temple by a mob in Rahim Yar Khan a day ago on August 4.
