Sreesanth was allegedly involved in the 2013 IPL match-fixing row while he was representing Rajasthan Royals. A trial court had discharged the cricketer of criminal charges, but the BCCI in 2015 had imposed a life ban on Sreesanth. Besides Sreesanth, the trial court in Delhi had discharged 33 other accused persons of the charge of match-fixing. The appeal by the Delhi police is pending before the Delhi High Court. In August, 2017, a single judge of the Kerala High Court had quashed the ban imposed on the cricketer, but a division bench of the High Court in October last year restored the ban imposed by BCCI.
