The cops were wary of making more arrests fearing a backlash. An officer of the Bidhannagar commissionerate said they had identified more than 15 men and women who were involved in the violence. A man identified as Dilip Maity, 27, was arrested in Sukantanagar, close to the accident spot, early on Sunday. Two bicycle-borne college students - Biswajit Bhuniya and Sanjay Bonu - were crushed under the wheels of a bus at the Chingrighata crossing on Saturday. Rapid Action Force units were posted on the Salt Lake bypass and in lanes and bylanes of Sukantanagar and its adjacent areas.
