The JSE's All Share index ended marginally higher on Monday, with Telkom (+6% to R26.50), Pick n Pay (+5% to R23.90) and Pepkor (+5% to R19.50) among the top gainers. Resource shares were under pressure, with Gold Fields down 4% to R279.99 while Anglo Platinum and Implats also dropped 4% to R728 and R71.50 respectively. The rand lost more than a percent of its value and was trading at R18.84/$ on Monday evening. Reuters reports that the dollar ticked higher on Monday, regaining some ground after falling for three straight weeks on bets that the US Federal Reserve will soon be cutting interest rates.
