Yvette Cooper condemned recent Russian incursions into Nato airspace as she addressed the UN Security Council for the first time as Foreign Secretary. The incursion followed similar incidents in Poland and Romania in which Russian drones were intercepted or shot down over Nato territory. Ms Reeves told ITV News that the Government and businesses need to “step up” in their efforts to deal with increasing threats to cyber security. “It’s coming from hostile states, states like Russia – and that’s why we are doing what we are doing. “A number of these attacks originate in Russia by Russian-backed entities, and we are getting a grip of that.”
