"Rupee settled for the day lower by 2 paise against dollar amid sustained foreign fund outflows and weak domestic equity markets," said V K Sharma, Head PCG & Capital Markets Strategy, HDFC Securities. "Strengthening of the US Dollar against other currencies overseas kept pressure on the Indian Rupee . The 30-share index ended 48.39 points, or 0.13 per cent, lower at 37,982.74. The broader NSE Nifty slipped 15.15 points or 0.13 per cent to close at 11,331.05.Meanwhile, Financial Benchmark India Private Ltd (FBIL) set the reference rate for the rupee/dollar at 69.0199 and for rupee/euro at 77.4215. The reference rate for rupee/British pound was fixed at 86.2956 and for rupee/100 Japanese yen at 63.94.
