The shock appointment comes after the Warriors were forced to significantly modify Gould's consultancy role due to "ongoing challenges brought about by the Covid-19 crisis". While Gould will remain working with the Warriors, it will be in a significantly reduced role. "If Gus chooses to work with another NRL club he does so with our support." Bulldogs chair John Khoury said Gould's appointment was "phenomenal news" for the club.
