A leading Welsh rugby personality has made a dire prediction for the game unless a “clueless” World Rugby can engineer major changes. Mark Ring, 58, a former Wales captain and something of a maverick during a lifetime involvement in the sport, fears rugby is “dying on its feet”. “I’d go way beyond Wales ... there’s a concern for the entire game of rugby union.” Ring told WalesOnline. “Unless we have a change of approach, the game will be dying on its feet because of World Rugby, Billy Beaumont’s outfit. “There’s just a huge gulf in rugby knowledge from him and people who are leading the way to the rest.
