An elderly woman was assaulted and robbed on Auckland’s North Shore, sparking police to ask for help in identifying two people. On August 14, a 78-year-old woman boarded a bus from Birkenhead shops to Beach Haven, before she was followed and attacked. A man and woman assaulted the elderly person and took a number of items including her handbag. Police are called on the public to help identify the man and woman, but confirmed on Friday morning they had now been identified. “The man has shown that he is willing to use violence against a vulnerable elderly woman, and he needs to be held accountable for this.
