The plantation is in Phop Phra district, which has nearly 2,000 rai of roses in cultivation, making it the country’s largest supplier of the blooms. Each couple will also receive a “thousand-year rose” in a glass jar for participating in “Phop Phra, Pop Rak, Kep Rak Sai Lo”, which translates as “We found love at Phop Phra and keep our love in a glass jar”. The province, district office and Tourism Authority of Thailand are all collaborating on the event with plantation owner Paradorn Kanda. Roses symbolise love and romance and are thus a popular choice as Valentine’s Day gifts.
