Bishnu Rose Pradhan has just trained as a truck driver through the Red Cross driving programme in Nelson. The former refugee from Bhutan, who is also known as Rose, has gained her class two truck licence, and is now looking for work as a truck driver, which she says is her dream job. Virginia Woolf Pradhan felt at home behind the wheel in a truck right away, she said. In her free time she is a driving mentor, and she also has a part-time job driving a pre-school bus. She got in touch with the Red Cross, who arranged truck driving lessons through its Pathways to Employment programme.
