Los Angeles led 5-2 entering the fifth inning, when the Rockies sent 13 men to the plate and scored eight runs. Valaika got it going with a two-run homer, Blackmon scored on Ian Desmond’s double, and Dahl gave the Rockies a 7-5 lead with his 11th homer. Ryu (9-2) went four-plus innings, allowing seven runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out four. Verdugo answered with a two-run shot in the fourth, his ninth of the season, to put the Dodgers ahead by three.
