It was recently reported reported that Francis Bean Cobain — the 25-year-old daughter of Nirvana’s late frontman Kurt Cobain — receives nearly $100,000 a month from her father’s publicity rights. In response to the allegations, Francis Bean tweeted the following message: “The media will always sensationalize falsities & untruths because that generates buzz for their benefit. Kurt Cobain died without a legacy plan. What transpired next was “court fights and ugly battles over his legacy that continued for almost 20 years.” All of this could have been easily avoided had Kurt Cobain had a legacy plan. The most recent headline example is Prince, who also died without a legacy plan or simple will.
