Robbie Henshaw is a doubt for Ireland’s Six Nations opener against England

Henshaw, who has 36 Ireland caps, has been ruled out with a serious hamstring injury PETER MORRISON/APRobbie Henshaw is a major doubt for Ireland’s 2019 Guinness Six Nations opener against England next February. The news is a blow for Leinster, too, who yesterday revealed that the midfielder’s hamstring injury is worse than previously feared. The former Connacht centre was initially ruled out of action for up to six weeks in early November, but his possible return has been put back another eight weeks. Ireland open their Six Nations campaign against England at Aviva Stadium on February 2, as they look to retain their title before the World Cup. Henshaw will miss Leinster’s remaining pool stage games in the Heineken Champions Cup, including this weekend’s visit of Bath and the January clashes with Toulouse and Wasps.
