The government, a Chinese road company and the community living along the Nunow-Madogashe road have agreed to allow the construction of the multi-billion-shilling road to continue. During the meeting held on Saturday all the parties agreed that the community end its animosity towards the firm. The Chinese company, Zhongmei Engineering Group Ltd, led by Zhng Fei, the site manager, last week said it had suspended all its operations. Another source told the Star the six individuals arrested last week on allegations of trying to block the project had been released. “We are happy the community finally sat down and agreed [to support the project],” he said.
