Dualling of Ngong Road is set to begin today with President Uhuru Kenyatta presiding over the launch of the works. "There will also be a provision of a corridor for future implementation of a Bus Transit System (BRT) along Ngong Road," Cheboi said. "It will involve construction of a 2.6 km road on Ngong Road phase 1 from the Kenya National Library Services to Ring Road, Kilimani junction," Cheboi said in a statement. The road is expected to ease traffic jam on the often clogged Ngong Road stretch leading to the city centre, reduce the time wasted by motorists and cater for future population increase. A study by IBM Corporation in 2012 says Kenya loses Sh50 million a day in wasted man hours due to traffic snarl-ups.
