It is wrong for leaders to call for mass action against court order, says Ruto

Ruto expressed concern that the opposition leaders were setting a dangerous precedent when they call for disobedience of the Judiciary. Deputy President William Ruto has asked leaders to respect the Constitution and abide by the rule of law when addressing issues. Speaking on Friday at Molem grounds in Embakasi West Constituency, Nairobi, after he launched the tarmac work on the Baraka-Savanna road, the Deputy President said it was wrong for leaders to call for mass action to protest a court order. "Recent events in the country clearly show the opposition want Kenyans to totally disregard the Constitution and by the extension the law. Ruto said Cord had declined to engage in talks in Parliament and now it was targeting its arsenal to the Judiciary, both independent institutions recognized by the Constitution.
