Law enforcers reportedly detained BNP joint secretary general Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel from a house in Malibagh area of the capital early Tuesday. BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told UNB that members of Detective Branch (DB) of Police picked Sohel up around 4:30am. “Now we do not know Sohel’s whereabouts …we strongly protest the detention and demand his immediate release,” he added. Three cases were recently filed against Sohel, also president of Dhaka south city unit of BNP, in connection with the attack on law enforcers at High Court intersection on January 30.
