Rio Olympics 2016: Rowing abandoned as high winds strike again

Rowing officials have canceled all racing overnight due to high winds. Racing officials announced at 8:09 a.m. local time that there would be no racing, and that a new schedule would follow. It's the second day lost to bad weather at the Olympic regatta and officials will have to try to cram in the remaining races in coming days. Twenty-two races were on the schedule overnight NZ time, including New Zealand's Genevieve Behrent and Rebecca Scown in the women's pair semifinal, Julia Edward and Sophie MacKenzie in the women's lightweight double scull semifinals as well as the men's and women's eight repechage races.
