A rideshare driver was been charged with allegedly of raping a young woman during a late night trip. The 37-year-old driver for an unnamed company picked up the female passenger in her 20s from Mandurah, south of Perth, about 1.15am on February 28. He is accused of raping the woman sometime during the journey, police said. The man, who also lives in Mandurah, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with one count of rape and another of indecent assault. He faced Fremantle Magistrates Court on Tuesday and police notified the rideshare company and the Transport Department of his arrest.
