Walt DisneyThe Box Office:There is an amusing irony in the fact that Walt Disney’s first bit of competition for Black Panther will be Walt Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time. So, yeah, I am sure plenty of folks who worked on Black Panther are also hoping that A Wrinkle in Time kicks its butt this weekend. If A Wrinkle in Time opens well (say, anything over $30 million), then it doesn’t matter how well Black Panther holds in its fourth weekend. While it is an unquestionable moral good, it is also, as a movie, a heartbreaking disappointment. A Wrinkle in Time struggles to hold our attention despite a game cast, strong visuals and a few interesting ideas.
