Stock photoOutsourcing firm Abtran, which operates the helpline for the State's Local Property Tax (LPT), last year received fees from the Revenue Commissioners of €1.9m (including VAT). New figures provided by Revenue show that since March 2013, the Cork-headquartered firm has received fees totalling €18.2m for the operation of the LPT. The figures provided by the Revenue Commissioners show that €513,000 was paid to Abtran for the final quarter of last year. However, the big winner last year in terms of Revenue Commissioners payments to companies was Accenture Ireland Ltd, which received €12.2m for providing external IT resources. The Revenue Commissioners' figures also show that the State agency last year paid legal firms a total of €1.73m.
