Resolution would let county continue spending without budget

By ROGER AMSDEN, LACONIA DAILY SUNLACONIA — Spending by the county would continue at its usual pace even if a budget is not approved by the new year, if a resolution to do so is passed by the Belknap County Delegation. “Most agencies have a continuing resolution which authorizes them to spend at last year’s level until a budget is approved. In October a Superior Court judge denied Belknap County's request for a court order Tardif pay the county's legal fees in case filed against the Belknap County Delegation. The ruling cleared the way for Tardif's appeal of a decision, which went against him to be taken up by the New Hampshire Supreme Court. In July the Belknap County Delegation's Executive Committee approved the transfer of $19,000 from contingency to legal services to pay for the pending appeal.
