Holding a protest with empty pots, the residents of Pallavaram and Chrompet on Monday complained to the Pallavaram Municipality about the drastic reduction in piped water supply in several localities. The residents came together to protest under the Federation of Civic and Welfare Associations of Pallavaram Municipality. Residents said going by what the Minister said the Pallavaram Municipality should be supplying 270 lakh litres of water daily but stated that was not the case. V. Santhanam, president of the federation, complained that piped water was not supplied regularly and the residents were not getting water even on alternate days. “At present the municipality does not see any major water crisis as water is available for another three to four months.
