Republicans cry foul after Nadler lets hearing witness statement run long

As Donald Ayer, the former Deputy Attorney General under President George H.W. Bush, continued speaking beyond his allotted five minutes – in which he blasted the conduct of current Attorney General William Barr – Republican members of the committee took issue with Nadler permitting Ayer’s statement to run long. The tapping infuriated Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga., who asked Nadler to have Gohmert removed from the hearing room. While Nadler said that he could have Gohmert removed, he did not do so and went on with other witnesses following Ayer finishing his statement. They've referred to their probe as examining the "unprecedented politicization of the Department of Justice under President Trump and Attorney General William Barr."
