“We demand that all the former clerks, chairmen and staff of former municipal and county councils account on a personal level everything they should have handed over when they left,” said County Assemblies Forum Secretary-General Albert Kochei. Mr Kochei said the officials of the defunct councils must be held to account for the loss of assets. The amount of corruption and looting that went on before the 2013 elections in the county councils was massive. The Senate needs to take a stand on this and have these people pay,” said Mr Kochei, who is also the Elgeyo-Marakwet Speaker. Former TA Chairman Kinuthia Wamwangi on Sunday said a special taskforce must be formed to look into the illegal transfer of the property.
